THEATRICAL MIX QC
Many times, audio
engineers in local territories create final mixes based
on their own preferences and customs (voice amplitude
relative to M&E, EQ, audio treatment, etc.), thereby
countermanding the intent of the original language
production mix. These mixing proclivities often come
from having heard too many substandard remixes over the
years.
In these cases, a
supervisor is called upon to maintain a dialogue mix
treatment identical to the original version in order to
deliver a seamless international release.
Although final multilanguagemixes have traditionally been done in
territory, they are increasingly performed in
centralized locations to maintain standardization,
enhance security and meet the time constraints of
distribution mandates.
In order to facilitate
this welcome operational shift, MEDIACONCEPTS
has created, developed and deployed
GLOBAL MEDIA TRANSFER
(GMT), a proprietary hardware/software solution
enabling producers to transmit and monitor digital
audio-video assets, securely encrypted, in real time,
thereby assuring a standard of excellence. The quality
control of multi-language projects may now be
centralized for ADR and final mix review.
