SUBTITLING
Multi-language subtitling
has increased dramatically due to the penetration of DVD
international markets linked to advanced DVD technology.
This multi-language demand is not only for new releases,
but also to reissue library titles with additional
languages in surround audio format.
A time-coded subtitle list is first created in the
language of origin
then translated into the target languages; a literal
translation will not suffice due to cultural differences
and originality of idiomatic language (slang, aphorisms,
figures of speech) peculiar to each territory. We create
an adaptation, customizing the dialogue to each language
with its message intact.
MEDIACONCEPTS delivers
subtitles in over 40 languages to all major authoring
specifications, maintaining the clients requirements as
to color, font, size, edging and formatting.
